I designed a substitution cipher for a project in my Visual Creativity & Meaning college class. The cipher is inspired by a combination of research on primitive shapes and commonly associated colors based on Bauhaus teachings, and a grapheme-color synesthesia study. In this study, participants associated letters and numbers with colors, and the results showed a interesting correlation of associating certain letters and numbers with certain colors. The cipher works both in a full-color fun style and a monochromatic style for a more legible de-ciphering experience.
